Bath, Somerset, UK

As I exited the train at Bath Spa, I heard the distant sound of birds of the sea. ‘Gulls here?’ I thought. I had no idea that these sea faring fowl had taken up residence by the towns canals situated about 30 miles from the sea. It was a few blocks to the hotel where I would rest my head on a real pillow, laying on the first real bed I had seen in the last 36 hours.

The flight from the US to Heathrow was comfortable, but it was a welcome site when I would checked into my nights lodging.

Three Abbey Green was an upscale B&B located in a secluded cobblestone courtyard, around the corner from Bath Abbey. I was fortunate to be staying in the Elinor Dashwood room in the Jane Austin wing feeling inspired by the energy of Jane Austin herself.

‘Mustn’t fall asleep all night,’ I bargained, as I set the alarm, springing up 2 hours later when it sounded.

I quickly showered and dressed, off for whatever adventure, or trouble would find me.  The streets of Bath were clean, filled with shops of all kinds and restaurants that would please any palette.

All Bar One, located off the main street, was a unique and refreshing change from the typical pub fare that I was accustomed to seeing in smaller towns outside of London.  Their wine menu was extensive and I ordered a “White Wine” as I perused their gastronomic offerings.  Truffle Goat cheese, drizzled with honey and topped with candied pecans. ‘Was I in heaven? How did I ever find something right outside of Wilshire or 5th Avenue?

It is a true awakening when you can have such a spiritual experience with food, that it effects your vibrational frequency.  As I dipped my fork into this culinary delight, I hoped it would be as delightful an experience as I anticipated.  Words could not describe the ‘food-gasmic’ look I made as I got the full combinations of flavors across my entire palette.  They swirled and combined in perfect unison, make for the perfect taste experience. The waitress smiled as she heard my small uncontrolled moan eek out as I turned my head slightly up, breathed in deeply as my eyes, involuntarily began moving up and back in their sockets. ‘If this is how you react to a small tapa, what should we expect when you have a bite of a main course that you enjoy?’

I was ecstatic as I made my way back to my hotel, enjoying my first full night in Europe as I connected to the energy and spirit of this grand place. It’s moments like this that continually remind me about how we create our own lives and that they can be filled with joy.
